PRODUCT DESCRIPTION  

CTXCD 101 is a high molecular weight Xanthan gum biopolymer. It is used to viscosify water based drilling and completion fluids. It is primarily a viscosity modifier for freshwater and Salt Saturated Muds.

  APPLICATION  

CTXCD 101 Viscosifies fresh water and brine-based fluids used for drilling, milling, under reaming, and gravel packing operations. It suspends bridging agents and weighting materials in fresh water and brine systems.

  ADVANTAGES  

• It helps disperses easily in fresh water muds, and brines.

• It can provide thixotropic properties and non-Newtonian flow characteristics over a wide salinity range at low concentrations.

• It provide excellent suspension without the need for clays.

• It stable up to 250°F (121°C).

Physical Appearance: Creamish -White Free Flowing Powder.

pH (1% Solution): 6 To 7

Moisture Content: 13% Max.

Particle Size less than 75 microns: 50% Max.

Particle Size less than 425 microns: 95% Min.

Rotational Viscometer, 6 r/min: 180 cP Min

Rotational Viscometer 3 r/min: 320 cP Min

  RECOMMENDED TREATMENT  

Recommended treatment for CTXCD 101 is 0.1 - 2 lb/bbl (0.3-5.7 kg/m³), as needed to obtain the desired viscosity and suspension characteristics

  PACKING AND STORAGE  

CTXCD 101 polymer is packaged in 25‐kg (55.1‐lb), multi‐wall, paper sacks. Store in a dry location away from sources of heat or ignition, and minimize dust
