CT-FLC-HT Fluid Loss Control Additive

CT FLC HT | FLUID LOSS CONTROL 

CT-FLC-HT is naturally occurring finely grinded Asphaltic mixture special formulation, which has certain unique properties, which make the product a particularly effective additive when drilling steeply dipping unstable shales. It restricts the invasion of filtrate to water sensitive shales by plugging the micro fractures and fissures, which would otherwise permit, filtrate invasion and the resultant instability of the shales to occur. It will reduce torque and drag as well as reduce the chances of becoming differentially stuck. CT-FLC-HT will also contribute to HPHT Filtrate control.

CT-FLC-HT is recommended in oil based muds where improved HPHT fluid loss is needed. In water based muds, CT-FLC-HT is used to stabilize unstable or sloughing shales

USAGE

Additions of 1-2 lbs/bbl (2.9-5.7 Kg/m3) will significantly reduce fluid loss. Initial treatment of 2-4lbs/bbl (5.7-1 1.4 Kg/m3) is recommended for shale stabilization. A daily maintenance of 10% of the initial treatment is recommended
