PIPE FREEING AGENT CT-SPOT

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CT-SPOT is   an environmentally friendly highly effective stuck pipe spotting fluid for   oil and water-based muds. It is liquid blends of surfactant and lubricant,   emulsifiers and filter cake cracking agents of varying chemical nature   formulated to serve as water in oil emulsifier and oil wetting agents and can   be weighed as per requirement. It is used to free stuck pipe which has down hole   problem frequently encountered in drilling operations.

APPLICATION

CT-SPOT   spotting fluid is chemically penetrate the wall cake between the drill pipe   and the

formation,   allowing the emulsion to seep behind the pipe, lubricating the pipe and   equalizing the pressure, thus freeing the pipe.

ADVANTAGES

• In case   of stuck pipe problem, it allows quick and effective operation.

• Can be   used with diesel oil, mineral oil, crude and oil base muds.

• It is   compatible with fresh and salt water drilling fluids and can be added in   active mud system without adversely affecting other properties.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Physical   appearance - Free   flowing liquid, free from visible impurities.

Specific   gravity -   0.80 – 0.90

Flash   Point (PMCC)  - Above   175°F.

Filter   Cake Cracking Test  - Should develop visible cracking of the   filter cake with 3% v/v in bentonite mud.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

CT-SPOT   normal treatment range is 3.5 gal/bbl (83.3 L/m3) provide satisfactory   performance for all type of base oils.

PACKING AND STORAGE

CT-SPOT is packaged in 5‐gal (18.9‐L) cans and 55‐gal (208‐L) drums.Store in dry, well‐ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Store away from incompatibles.
