Sodium Bromide Solution CT-NBR-L

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CT NBR-L Sodium Bromide (NaBr) brine, weighing 12.5 lb/gal (1,498 kg/m3), is used as a clear-brine workover and completion fluid. Sodium Bromide brine has densities ranging from 8.4 to 12.5 lb/gal (1,007 to 1,498 kg/m3) as an alternative to calcium-base brines where formation waters contain high concentrations of bicarbonate and sulfate ions. The desired density is obtained by blending with other brines for a wide range of densities.

APPLICATION

CT NBR-L Sodium Bromide brine is used as a single-salt brine or in combination with other brines to form clear-brine workover and completion fluids with densities to 12.5 lb/gal (1,498 kg/m3).

Sodium Bromide brine has a crystallization temperature of approximately 33°F (0°C). Unless a “chlorides-free” environment is required, Sodium Bromide brines should be used as part of a NaCl/ NaBr blend. Blends with higher density zinc bromides can also be used.
