PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CT VS 101 is a superior quality anionic high molecular weight PHPA emulsion. It is designed to improve viscosity of drilling muds. They are used as viscosifier, shale inhibitors and clay stabilizers apart from other functions in drilling muds. It is a co polymer designed to provide cutting encapsulation and Shale Stabilization. It maintains viscosity in drilling fluid.

APPLICATION

CT VS 101 copolymer emulsion is used to stabilize reactive clay and shale formations.

CT VS 101 provides high degree of clay and shale inhibition in conjunction with sodium and potassium chloride in fresh water and sea water muds.

ADVANTAGES

• It is a high yield viscosifier.

• It is a filming/encapsulating agent.

• The product also acts to control water loss, extend bentonite, flocculate drilled solids, lubricate the borehole, and reduce circulating pressure losses, resulting in optimized delivery of hydraulic force to the formation face through the bit nozzles.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Physical appearance - White to Cream Opaque Liquid.

Specific gravity  - 1.04 – 1.10.

Flash Point (PMCC)  - Above 200°F.

Pour Point  - -20°F

pH of 1% Solution in distilled Water - 7.2 – 9.0

Solid Content (Active Content) % - ≥ 35% w/w

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

A concentration of 1–4 lbs/bbl (2.8–11.4 kgs/m3) is added to the mud system as required.

PACKING AND STORAGE

CT VS 101 is packaged in 5‐gal (18.9‐L) cans and 55‐gal (208‐L) drums. Store in dry, well‐ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Store away from incompatibles
