Liquid Xanthan Gum Biopolymer

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

CT XCD L is a dispersible grade high molecular weight xanthan gum biopolymer suspended in an ultra-clean mineral oil. It is used to viscosify water based drilling and completion fluids. It is primarily a viscosity modifier for freshwater and salt saturated muds.

APPLICATION

CT XCD L Viscosify fresh water and brine-based fluids used for drilling, milling, under reaming, and gravel packing operations. It suspends bridging agents and weighting materials in fresh water and brine systems. It is very stable to acid and alkali. This polymer is an efficient viscosity builder and has good stability in 15 % HCl at temperatures up to 150 degrees F.

ADVANTAGES

Physical Appearance  - Light brown viscous liquid.

Flash Point (PMCC) - Above 90°C

Solubility in Water   - Dispersible.

Active Content - Minimum 40%

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

Recommended treatment is 0.1 - 2 lb/bbl (0.3-5.7 kg/m³), as needed to obtain the desired viscosity and suspension characteristics.

PACKING AND STORAGE

CT XCD L polymer is packaged in 5 gallon cans & 55 gallon drums. Store in a dry location away from sources of heat or ignition, and minimize dust.
