PRODUCT DESCRIPTION  

DEFOAM-A is a high molecular weight fatty alcohol based defoamer to control foaming in all water-based drilling fluids as well as brine-based completion and work over fluids

 

  APPLICATION  

DEFOAM-A is used for the elimination and control of foam associated with the mixing and circulation of brines, as well as in dispersed and non-dispersed drilling fluid systems

 

  ADVANTAGES  

• Environmentally responsible at recommended concentration.

• Its work quickly and effective at low concentrations.

 

  PHYSICAL PROPERTIES  

Physical Appearance: Colorless Clear Liquid

Specific Gravity: 0.82 - 0.89

Flash Point (PMCC): Above 70°C

Efficiency test in 1.15 SG NaCl brine: 80% foam height to be eliminated in ≤ 60 seconds.

 

  RECOMMENDED TREATMENT  

Typical treatment range is 0.05-0.30 lb/bbl (0.14-0.86 kg/m³).

 

  PACKING AND STORAGE  

DEFOAM-A is packaged in 5‐gal (18.9‐L) cans and 55‐gal (208‐L) drums. Store in dry, well‐ventilated area. Keep container closed. Keep away from heat, sparks and flames. Store away from incompatibles.            

 

  CROSS REFERENCE  

DEFOAM-A is equivalent to DEFOAM A (M-I) and DEFOAM HB (Baker)
